U.S. Finalist's Research Becomes Hot Topic Jordyn Wolfand, one of four finalists in the 2007 U.S. SJWP competition, earned that distinction for her research on the effects that residual concentrations of the active ingredient in birth control pills have on minnows. The topic of low levels of pharmaceuticals in our waters has recently been the focus of much media attention.
