For the Public: One of WEF’s primary goals is to provide information to the public on recent water quality issues in order to convey the importance of investing in water and wastewater infrastructure.  We believe that the key to making a difference in local communities lies in achieving public support.

World Water Monitoring Day

Coordinated by the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and the International Water Association (IWA), World Water Monitoring Day™ is an international outreach program that builds public awareness and involvement in protecting water resources around the world.

Held annually between September 18 and October 18, the program engages communities in monitoring the condition of local rivers, streams, estuaries and other water bodies.

WEF and IWA invite citizens and organizations from around the globe to share in this unique experience of water quality monitoring.
